This will allow the connection of any sensor or IoT device and smart node in the city in order to collect data to optimize public resources and reduce unnecessary costs
The “Alcoi Smart City” project is closer to achieving its goal of turning Alcoi into a reference smart city, thanks to the implementation of the IoT telecommunications network of IoTsens, a Grupo Gimeno company specialized in global solutions of IoT, Big data and artificial intelligence.
Having this own and private telecommunications network, which covers 100% of the urban area and the industrial estates of Alcoi, will allow the connection of any sensor or IoT device and smart node in the city, in order to collect, store and analyze all the information from the sensors, which will make it possible to optimize public resources and reduce unnecessary costs.
To carry out this project -co-financed by the European Union’s ERDF funds-, the company has installed gateways and LoRaWAN indoor and outdoor antennas to also provide coverage to the main buildings in the city, as well as to the Font Roja natural park and the Baradello Gelat, El Sargento, Barxell, Estepar and Montesol urbanizations.
In this framework, it is worth highlighting the close collaboration of the City Council and IoTsens, as a result of which the company has previously installed sensors to measure noise levels, airborne particles and the concentration of CO, SO2, NO2 and O3 gases.
Both the sensors and the network are part of the innovative “IoTsens Smart City” solution, a solution for remote city management that facilitates decision-making by optimizing available resources in real time.
